Nonperturbative aspects of pion form factor unraveled

The discrepancy between the asymptotic pQCD prediction and the experimental data for the electromagnetic pion form factor indicates that experiments have not yet reached the perturbative regime. This issue is addressed in the recent JPAC/ExoHad paper, where a path to connect the perturbative and nonperturbative regimes is discussed, by exploring the conditions required for a Regge exchange model to fulfill, ensuring consistency with the pQCD result. We have shown how the Regge Quark Exchange, which describes the amplitude, can be investigated by studying the asymptotic behavior of the pion form factor. The work has been led by Kevin Quirion (Indiana U.) and Cesar Fernandez-Ramirez (UNED), in collaboration with Vincent Mathieu (Barcelona U., co-PI), Gloria Montana (JLab), Robert Perry (Barcelona U.), Alessandro Pilloni (Messina U., co-PI), Arkaitz Rodas (ODU & JLab, co-PI), Vanamali Shastry (Indiana U., ExoHad postdoc), Wyatt Smith (GWU, ExoHad postdoc), Adam Szczepaniak (Indiana U. & JLab, PI), and Daniel Winney (Bonn U., HISKP).
